Beyonce Knowles is an American recording artist that is involved with singing, songwriting, producing and acting. She was born in 1981 in Houston, Texas and has been a heavy weight on the music scene since 1997. Originally part of the group Destiny's Child, her girl pop group rose to pop status when they become one of the world's best selling girl groups of all time. Beyonce began her solo career in 2003, releasing singles like "Crazy in Love", "Baby Boy" and "Deja Vu". Because of the extreme popularity of her solo albums, she has remained a solo artist and continues to record albums today. She recently married R&B/Rap Artist Jay Z. and become a new mom to her baby girl Blue Ivy.
